Article Retraction & Withdrawal
ResearchGet Journal of Islamic Religious Studies is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the scholarly record. The journal applies clear procedures for article retraction and withdrawal to address cases involving serious errors, ethical violations, duplicate publication, plagiarism, or other forms of publication misconduct.
Retraction and withdrawal decisions are made carefully by the editorial team based on publication ethics, academic integrity, and the responsibility to protect the credibility of scholarly communication.
Article Retraction
An article may be retracted when there is clear evidence that the published work contains serious errors or ethical violations that may affect the validity, reliability, or originality of the article. Retraction is intended to correct the academic record and inform readers that the article should not be considered a valid scholarly source.
Articles may be retracted for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Evidence of plagiarism or substantial similarity with previously published works.
- Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data, sources, findings, or research results.
- Duplicate publication or redundant publication without proper disclosure.
- Serious errors in data, analysis, interpretation, or conclusions that invalidate the article.
- Unauthorized use of copyrighted materials, images, tables, figures, or other protected content.
- Inappropriate authorship, false authorship claims, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.
- Ethical violations involving research participants, communities, institutions, or sensitive data.
- Peer review manipulation, citation manipulation, or other forms of publication misconduct.
Retraction Process
When a potential reason for retraction is identified, the editorial team will conduct an investigation. The investigation may involve communication with the authors, reviewers, editorial board members, or relevant institutions when necessary.
- The editorial team reviews the allegation, evidence, and relevant documentation.
- Authors may be given an opportunity to provide clarification or explanation.
- The editor evaluates whether correction, expression of concern, or retraction is the most appropriate action.
- The final decision is made by the editor based on the seriousness of the issue and its impact on the scholarly record.
Retraction Notice
If an article is retracted, the journal will publish a retraction notice. The notice will clearly identify the retracted article and explain the reason for retraction. The original article may remain accessible on the journal website with a clear retraction mark to preserve the scholarly record and publication history.
A retracted article must not be cited as a valid academic reference, except when discussing the retraction case itself.
Article Withdrawal
Article withdrawal refers to the removal of a manuscript from the publication process before final publication. Withdrawal may occur at the request of the author or by decision of the editorial team under certain circumstances.
Manuscript withdrawal may be considered in the following cases:
- The author requests withdrawal before the manuscript is accepted for publication.
- The manuscript was submitted to another journal at the same time.
- The manuscript contains serious ethical problems identified during editorial screening or peer review.
- The author fails to respond to editorial or reviewer requests within the required period.
- The manuscript is found to violate the journal’s publication ethics, plagiarism policy, or author guidelines.
Author-Initiated Withdrawal
Authors who wish to withdraw their manuscript must submit a formal withdrawal request to the editorial team. The request should include the manuscript title, author names, reason for withdrawal, and confirmation that all authors agree with the withdrawal.
Authors are expected not to withdraw manuscripts without valid reasons after the review or editorial process has begun, as this may waste editorial and reviewer resources.
Editorial Withdrawal
The editorial team has the right to withdraw a manuscript from the publication process if the manuscript is found to violate ethical standards, journal policies, or academic integrity requirements. Editorial withdrawal may also be applied if authors do not cooperate during the editorial, review, or revision process.
Correction and Expression of Concern
In cases where an article contains minor errors that do not invalidate the overall findings, the journal may issue a correction instead of a retraction. If an ethical concern is under investigation but the final decision has not yet been made, the journal may issue an expression of concern to inform readers.
Author Responsibilities
- Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, accurate, and ethically prepared.
- Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time.
- Authors must immediately notify the editorial team if they discover significant errors or ethical issues in their submitted or published work.
- Authors must cooperate with the editorial team during investigations related to withdrawal, correction, or retraction.
Editorial Responsibility
The editorial team is responsible for protecting the integrity of the journal and the scholarly record. All retraction and withdrawal decisions are made fairly, transparently, and based on available evidence. The journal will take appropriate action when publication misconduct or serious academic errors are confirmed.
Commitment to Publication Integrity
Through this article retraction and withdrawal policy, ResearchGet Journal of Islamic Religious Studies seeks to uphold responsible scholarly publishing, protect academic integrity, and ensure the reliability of published research in Islamic religious studies.
